Thoughts about Psalm 89:15

The Sounds of Joy!

How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound. O Lord, they walk in the light of Your countenance. Psalm 89:15

The sound of joy, the sound of victory, the sound of trumpets – so many interpretations in the O.T., but what does it mean for us today? In the past, I was reminded of the joyful praise and shouts of joy in church, at least in those not restricted by human rules.

Today, I had a new thought about it. Perhaps we all have to ask ourselves and make some serious life adjustments if the answer is no. Let's get honest with God.

Have YOU heard the sound of joy?

Have YOU heard the voice of a joyful shout to God?

If you haven't, could it be that you haven't shouted for joy to the Lord, you haven't let out a shout of victory after a sudden answered prayer, after receiving a blessing, miracle, or healing? Have you not had a reason for a shout of joy yet?

Listen to your own sound of joy, even before seeing any results of your prayers! In faith, because you know that He heard you!

Have you heard the sound of joy from other people? What kind of company are you in? Do you have people around you who shout for joy because of the victory that the Lord provided? The Father wants to bless us; He wants us to have victory in every battle. Everything is joy-shout-worthy: the Holy Spirit living in us, the power of the name of Jesus, and the covering of His blood! Why don't we shout for joy? Where are the sounds of joy of victory?

Do you also sing the song, Shout Jesus from the mountain, Jesus in the street….?

Let's quit singing and start doing if there is any light of His countenance!

In conviction! In confidence! In love! - Be a light before the nations!
