The dove in the window
We were on the drive back from a short trip visiting the owls nesting up north. Before we started driving we prayed for safe travel and my brother had added the request for me that God would show Himself in some special way; that it would be without a doubt HIM. I think he thought I needed a little cheering up since I had been limping around with a cast on my foot and the trip had ended up being very unsuccessful in owl sightings. I went along with the prayer even though I was a little uncomfortable with it; I don’t like to push the Lord, if that makes sense. Little did I know that God would answer that prayer so spot-on.
So, we were on the road home in the middle of nowhere when the brother needed to jump the fence for a moment. We pulled over and off he went into the bushes. Right then a dove landed on the hood of the car and hopped onto the windshield wiper peering into the window, but not minding me at all. The dove just sat there and didn’t move, so I got my phone out and took some pictures of it. The bird did not care that I was moving around in the car and when the brother came back in sight the dove flew away.
I showed him my pictures and it was then that I realized what had just happened. In every picture, no matter the angle, the dove was staring precisely at the cross that was hanging from the rearview mirror. I leave the rest open to your imagination.
As for me, I believe I got my blessing in which God did show Himself in some special way; that it was without a doubt HIM. I also believe God chose the dove in the window because it would be significant to my brother since he had previously had a visitation of the Holy Spirit through a dove in a window years ago.
Thank You, Lord, for being part of our everyday life!
