Wonderful transformation

The butterfly is such a unique creation, a multitude of different designs, the dream of humanity – to be able to fly, a joy to everybody young and old.

The butterfly is a picture of Christianity, because the caterpillar has to ‘die’ before it can turn into this beautiful new being that flies away. It doesn’t really die, but being in a cocoon is about as dead as being buried alive.

In the same way we are to die to life as we know it and the world and our transformation usually takes time and separation from certain things and people. The reward is to be free, bring joy to others and to smell the flowers :) See the connection? How wonderful! The butterfly’s life is a daily reminder of God’s plan at work. (Matt. 16:24-25, John 12:24-25, Rom. 12:2)

I find it so amazing that a caterpillar (a worm), one of the lowest forms of life, lays down its life and after a period of dying to self, rises up as a new creation in beautiful colors, and is rewarded by having its diet changed to nectar!

I love butterflies because they are a gift from God and they are refreshing to watch; I can’t get enough of them. Follow this link to marvel at more beautiful, transformed, flying worms. Enjoy!
